ANTM Alumni a meth addict?

Most of us would run home every Wednesday to catch America's Next Top Model.  I know I did.  I don't remember what cycle Jael was in, but I remember always feeling that she had substance abuse problems.  She spoke very slowly and seemed a bit off.  I believe her cycle was the one where 50 cent pushed her into the swimming pool because she kept bothering him. 

Fast forward 6 years and Jael makes her next television debut on Dr. Phil.  This was not an episode where they catch up with the former model and find out what she's doing now.  Or maybe it was.  The episode was to implore Jael to seek medical treatment for her 6 year addiction to Crystal Meth.  Jael was visibly embarrassed, attempted to run from the cameras most of the show and scared of what can happen to her if she decided to seek treatment.  Eventually Dr. Phil was able to get her to agree to go to rehab. 

My prayers go out to her and her family.  Addiction is serious.  I hope she recovers fully.  SHAME on Tyra Banks for not offering some type of assistance to this young woman.  I think eventually she will come to her aide... for publicity. 

In Rihanna news...

Rihanna got a new tattoo!!!!  I already see the flood of easily influenced young adults AND grown women getting this tattoo because she did.  There will be an influx of under tittie tatts within the next few weeks.  The tattoo is actually very pretty.  It is meaningful to her since she just lost her grandmother.

I'm definitely late with the Rihanna interview reaction.  My reaction is pretty lackluster.  Were any of you surprised by her announcing that she was still in love with Chris?  Were we surprised that she was secretly meeting up with him?  Were we surprised that they are still friends? I'm sorry but watching that interview was like watching the past 3 years.  Why is she even still talking about it?  Just get back together already.  I feel like we will hear about Rihanna and Chris Brown pretending not to be together for the next 3 years.  I am completely over them!  Blah...

Highlights from the BET awards

The BET awards aired last night and I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised.  It wasn't the same buffoonery as every year.  The awards show was carried out with class and elegance.  It was so clear that the entire show was focused on Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Beyonce.  The camera cut to them so many times during the show I almost feel they should've co-hosted Samuel L Jackson's strugglin ass.  Anyway, there were some amazing performances, great fashion choices, horrible fashion choices and an AMAZING tribute to Whitney Houston.

Where in the Pajama Hell was Laurie Ann Gibson going?

The Whitney tribute was AMAZING.  The Frankie Beverly & Maze performance was classic.  Usher's performance of "Climax" was great.  Chris Brown actually sang live during "Turn Up the Music."  Kanye did his thing as usual.  D'angelo had the most amazing come back performance.  And last but not least, Rev. Al Sharpton was recognized for all of his hard work as a humanitarian.  Kudos to you BET for not being an embarrassment last night.

Lastly, the first row of the awards was filled with the Illuminati elite.  You had Allen (Solange's man), Solange, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye, Kim Kardashian and Nikkie Minaj.  Every chance the camera got, it was focused on the front row, mainly Kim, Kanye, Bey and Jay.  It was RIDICULOUS!

Rihanna gone MAD!

I get that Rihanna is capitalizing off of this "bad gal" image that her label has created for her but I think she is doing too much right now!  I don't care for her being a role model because I feel parents should have a better handle on what their kids are listening to.  I won't pull the, "Rih Rih you're supposed to be a role model, you have children looking up to you" card.  I will pull the, "since when was smoking weed and posting pics of you with the caption, 'hi' cool" card.  That's so lame to me.  Who cares that you smoke weed?  Post a picture of a book.  Or your vocal coach, so we can encourage him to quit.  Rihanna is a beautiful woman but its time for her to stop the antics.  She is the new Lindsay Lohan. She has become beyond trashy.  Not a fan!
